Picnic shelters in many of the local parks, unless otherwise specified, are rented on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis.  If you have any questions, please go to the Communities page to view contact information for that corresponding community.





City Park

Located at the northeast corner  of N 8th St and Jeroleman St is the Dunlap City Park.   There are two picnic shelters that are free to be used by the public.  Restrooms, basketball courts and a playground are located near the shelters.  This park also has the Dunlap city pool that is open during the summer swimming season.


Pleasant View Park

This park is located at the intersection of S 12th St and Eagle St.   This park has two picnic shelters that are free to use by the public.  Restrooms are located nearby as-well-as a playground and A.D.A. compliant walking trail.  The Pleasant View Park pond also provides an opportunity for fishing either from the bank or  a boat.    There is  a Frisbee golf course that can be enjoyed by the whole family.





City Park

The Logan City Park is located at the intersection of N 4th Ave and Hwy. 30.  A playground, basketball courts and two picnic shelters are located at this facility.  Both shelters have electricity, but no grills.  However, one shelter does have a full kitchen area and can be rented for $50.00.  No restrooms are present at the city park, however, port-a-pots are brought in during the Summer season.  For more information, contact the City of Logan at (712) 644-2425.


Milliman Park

While Milliman Park, located on Glenn Ave. has a playground area, it is more known for its natural offerings.  There is a nature trail through the timbered portions of the park as-well-as a fire pit that can be utilized for a wiener roast or just a bonfire.  There are large open areas which can be utilized for many fun outdoor group activities.  Picnic tables may be found here, but there are no picnic shelters.  Restrooms also consist of port-a-pots are brought in during the Summer season.




Missouri Valley

Willow Park

Located at 800 W Huron St., Willow Park is home to the Harrison County Fair.  This location features 8 structures which can be rented.  A few of these are enclosed buildings with heat and air.    The large open shelter is available FCFS basis.  There are 2 large show arenas that may be utilized for special events.  For more information, contact the City of Missouri Valley at (712) 642-3502.  This location also has a nice playground area for kids of all ages.  Camping is available at this location .  See the Camping and Cabins page for more information.


Little Willow Park

Just a couple blocks away at 1101 W Superior St. is Little Willow Park.  This much smaller park contains a fenced in dog park, basketball/tennis courts and horseshoe pits.  A few picnic tables and restrooms are found at this location as well.  This is just a nice quiet little park .


Summit Park

Summit Park is another nice little park located at the intersection of  N 4th St. and Summit St.  This park comes complete with a fenced in basketball court, playground equipment and two shelters with charcoal grills.  No restrooms or electrical hook ups are located at this park.





Located at the corner of N Vine St. and Elm St. is the Mondamin City Park.  The Jimmy King Park Shelter is a fully enclosed building with heat and air, kitchenette, 2 refrigerators, and a room supplied with tables and chairs that is capable of holding up to 25 people.  This may be rented with a "free will" donation.   For more information, contact the City of Mondamin at (712) 646-2431A second open air shelter may be rented on a FCFS basis without contacting the city hall.  There are also restrooms, a playground, basketball/tennis courts, and horseshoe pits at this park.





Persia has two town parks.  Proof Park is located at the intersection of Hwy. 191 and 7th Ave.  Just a few blocks north at the intersection of Hwy. 191 and Main St.  is a picnic shelter, restroom and additional playground equipment.  Please contact the City of Persia at (712) 488-3275 for more information.








The Pisgah City Park located at the intersection of Ash St. and Park St. has a picnic shelter, restrooms, and playground.  There are also 6 camping spots available.  See the Camping and Cabins page for more information.   Please contact the City of Pisgah at (712) 456-2301 or (712) 456-2408 for more information.





The Woodbine City Park is located in the center of Park Cir. near where Park St. and 6th St. intersect.  There is a playground located next to the large picnic shelter that is free to use by the public at any time on a FCFS basis.  A smaller shelter exists on the NE side of Park Cir. that is also free of charge.  Just down hill from the playground is a fenced in basketball/tennis court.  Restrooms are also located downhill near the swimming pool, but are only opened seasonally.  Feel free to contact the city with any questions you may have at (712) 647-2550.
